SHSH blobs, either through a tool like TinyUmbrella or simply through Cydia. Both these methods work, but wouldn’t it be even easier if there was a simple alternate iDevice utility that could do this? There is a utility that was released into Cydia called iSHSHit (Tinyumbrella alternative), and with this utility your SHSH blobs are saved for your current firmware version. Once you save your SHSH Blobs with iSHSHit, you can email yourself your SHSH blobs for backup also. iSHSHit was recently updated to support saving SHSH blobs for the iOS 4.3,4.3.1 firmware. If you are looking for a Tinyumbrella alternative that will save your SHSH blobs then iSHSHit truly is a perfect choice.

TinyUmbrella is a must-have tool for all those iPhone users who jailbreak their iDevices. It does two important things : Requests SHSH signatures for Firmware restores and plays back those signatures enabling iTunes to continue restore.

We recommended that you save the iOS 4.1 SHSH Blobs before the public release of iOS 4.2 to get the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2. Apple has already rolled out the iOS 4.2 GM version and the final version is coming just within a few days after which Apple will not sign the old firmware.Though Cydia automatically stores the SHSH Blobs of every jailbroken iDevice, but it is better to save them manually with the help of TinyUmbrella.
