ultrasnow Unlock Supports iOS 4.3.1, Release Imminent

iPhone Dev Team hacker Musclenerd has confirmed that they’ve managed to fix ultrasnow compatibility issues with iOS 4.3.1 and posted a teaser shot of his iPhone running on T-Mobile with good Signal strength. This update is just for iOS 4.3.1 compatibility and ONLY unlocks the baseband that ultrasnow 1.2 currently supports. Please note that this is not a new ultrasnow version but a fix which will be pushed for making it compatible with iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Only those, who are already unlocked on older baseband will be able to take advantage of it. Take a look at Musclenerd's tweet on ultrasnow unlock below.

This is just a quick warning for all of you unlockers and jailbreakers out there. MuscleNerd has just tweeted that if you rely on an unlock you should stay away from iOS 4.3.1 firmware update as it is not safe. Also included in MuscleNerd’s tweet was a warning for future iPad 2 jailbreakers. If you plan on jailbreaking your iPad 2 in the near future do not press the update button or you could be left out when an untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak is released. Yesterday, iH8sn0w released patched unofficial PwnageTool bundles to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS (both old and new Bootroms), iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G and iPad. These iOS 4.3 GM bundle for PwnageTool preserve the iPhone 4 Baseband. If you’re iPhone 4 is already unlocked on baseband 01.59.00, you can safely restore your iDevice to a custom 4.3 pre-jailbroken IPSW and retain current baseband and unlock, instead of updating upgrading to BB 04.10.01.

We have got something new to share with those restless readers who are anxiously waiting for iPhone 4 unlock on baseband 03.10.01 and baseband 02.10.04. MuscleNerd, the thinktank of the iPhone Dev Team and the developer of ultrasn0w 1.3 unlock, has just shared his plan for iPhone 4 ultrasn0w 1.3 unlock through his twitter account. He confirms that the upcoming iOS version, that is iOS 4.3, also contains some vulnerable commands and he is working to find a way to make it unlockable till baseband 04.10.01.

TinyUmbrella lets you update iPhone 4 to iOS 4.2.1 while preserving its baseband version 01.59.00 which can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. Below is a guide on how to update iPhone 4 to iOS 4.2.1 firmware while preserving baseband 01.59.00 using TinyUmbrella. Updating iPhone 4 to iOS 4.2.1 also updates your baseband to 03.10.01 which is currently NOT unlockable with Ultrasn0w.

After jailbreaking with PwnageTool here is a tutorial on how to unlock using UltraSn0w. It is now possible to upgrade to the iOS4.1 firmware, while preserving your baseband by using the new Pwnage tool. Below is a tutorial on how to unlock your iPhone running a custom cooked iOS4.1 firmware.
UltraSn0w 1.1-1 supports the following iDevices :
* iPhone 3G
* iPhone 3GS
* iPhone 4
Note: UltraSn0w works only if you have jailbroken you iPhone with the Pwnagetool 4.1.

The Dev-Team have kept their promise and have released the Unlock only a couple of days after the jaiblreak was launched. So,if you are looking forward to unlocking your iPhone, follow the tutorial below.
This new unlock will work on the following basebands:
* iPhone 4G baseband - 01.59.
* iPhone 3G/3GS basebands - 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04.
Requirements:
Activated iPhone 3G/ 3GS /4G
Note: If your iPhone is not activated then this version of unlock will not work.
