We know the Dev-Team have already released an untethered beta of RedSn0w, but unfortunately due to the amount of errors users have been receiving and the fact that this beta is currently only on MAC, it limits the audience who can use Redsn0w untethered jailbreak. If you have been keeping up with our recent posts, you would have known that the Dev-Team have released a new version of Redsn0w to include a command line feature, which users could use to boot their iDevice easier.

The iPhone DevTeam updated Redsn0w to include “one-click” support for those of you running the tethered 4.2.1 jailbreak. Using command-line arguments, you can now bypass the screens you had normally see as you use Redsn0w to “Just boot tethered for now”. Below are the instructions on how to quickly boot your tethered jailbroken iPhone using Redsn0w for Mac.

About an hour ago the Dev-Team released an updated version of Redsn0w to include a new feature to help better manage iDevices that are tethered. This new version of Redsn0w unfortunately NOT the untethered jailbreak for Windows, it is, as we said before, simply a new update of Redsn0w which includes a new command line feature to boot tethered iDevices.

The iPhone Dev Team drops Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 3 that fixes some more bugs found in Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 2. This new beta fixes issues related to FaceTime, Winterboard themes, embedded videos in iTunes and others.

Redsn0w 0.9.7 b2 is now available to download. Redsn0w 0.9.7 b2 update fixes some bugs that cause built-in app crashes. It also fixes the sudden close of task switcher. It is to be noted that this untethered jailbreak software for iOS 4.2.1 is still under beta testing and only those who don’t need ultrasn0w unlock should try it.

As promised, the iPhone Dev Team has released the necessary jailbreak tools which can untether the latest iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak on iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G, and iPad. Previous iDevices already have untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1.

Some of you who have recently updated your baseband to V 06.15.00 to jailbreak and unlock have been facing battery drains issue. The problem doesn’t actually come from Ultrasn0w or Redsn0w, but from the hacktivation, for those who have hacktivated instead of activating the phone with an official carrier.

The Dev Team just released an update to their UltraSn0w unlock. Unfortunately, this time it’s not as easy as downloading and installing UltraSn0w to unlock the iPhone. Below is a step by step guide to prepare iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3G, 3GS using Reds0w for unlock using Ultrasn0w.
