John Carmack,id Software’s co-founder,had demonstrated the Rage engine on the iPhone in QuakeCon 2010 which is a console game engine behind some highly popular games like Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne 3. The engine even has a blend of some cool graphical features . On the iPhone 4  it can run on 60 frames per second,which is quite amazing keeping in mind the hardware specs on a mobile phone.
It also runs seamlessly on the iPhone 3GS. id Software is looking forward to release games for the iPhone/iPod Touch powered by Rage engine in the near future. According to a Source, one of these titles may be released at the end of this year. We think this will be great step as the users have not been able to experience Console-like Next-Gen games on their iDevices.
