MuscleNerd of the Dev Team has announced via Twitter that they’ve figured out a way to use the PwnageTool, Limerain's  exploit and Comex’s hack to jailbreak future firmwares (iOS 4.2 and later) on all A4 chip devices such as iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, iPad and the new Apple TV.

The Dev team will be using Geohot’s USB exploit and Comex's hack in PwnageTool to allow users to create a custom pre-jailbroken iOS firmware file so that they can update their iDevice and while preserving the baseband. Comex's hack will also make the jailbreak untethered.

So, when iOS 4.2 comes out in November, the Dev Team will be able to jailbreak it easily.
