Enable Flash On Your iDevice With SmokeScreen
Saturday, October 30, 2010 11:44 PM
With Flash being an integral part of the web, it seems a shame to be forced to browse the web with restricted functionality on your iDevice. There are plugins for enabling flash on the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad, but these plugins are not very stable and require your iDevice to be jailbroken. With a new open source project called SmokeScreen, developers will soon have the ability to convert flash elements directly to a supported mobile format called HTML5.
While SmokeScreen by itself may not actually interest the average user, this will open up huge possibilities for developers. It can open up the iPodTouch, iPhone and iPad to flash gaming, flash videos and much more without needing to jailbreak your iDevice.
While SmokeScreen’s release date is not known, a beta version will be released to developers soon.
Please give your opinion on SmokeScreen and the possibilities it could open up for your iDevices.
