It appears as if @jwhelton has discovered a way to modify the iPodNano’s springboard.plist to create a blank icon on his iPod Nano’s springboard. Now a lot of sites are spreading rumors that the new touch screen iPod Nano has been jailbroken. Unfortunately this is not quite the case, the iPod Nano has been hacked, but it is no where near jailbroken.

In fact besides figuring out a way to modify the iPod Nano, @jwhelton has found some interesting hidden features that the iPod Nano has lying around on the Nano’s plist.

Inside the Plist there is reference to support Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Games, vCards, Calender events etc… with a few other cool things like a passcode lock. @jwhelton thinks that with the bypass he has figured out, he hopes to enable these features before Apple releases the updated Nano OS.

Until then, if the iPod Nano was jailbroken would you purchase it?
