If you are using the new Cydia update, you might have come across many crashes. Most of the time, if you are installing, or updating an app and Cydia crashes. Now Cydia will be unable to open. This particular issue is caused by corrupt files in /var/lib/dpkg/updates. Deleting them fixes this Cydia issue. Read the following tutorial to fix your Cydia crashes.






There are a few methods to fix Cydia crashes. Follow them below.

Fix Latest Cydia Update Crash After Jailbreak [How To] : 

Method #1 :

Open MobileTerminal on your iDevice and type "rm /var/lib/dpkg/updates/*" (without the quotes) and hit enter (make sure you include "*").

Method #2 :

1) Use iFile or Discover from Cydia and browse to /var/lib/dpkg/updates/ 


2) For Discover : Swipe the files and select delete.
    For iFile : Select edit, check all the files, then tap the trash can at the bottom.

Method #3 :

SSH into your iDevice and type "rm /var/lib/dpkg/updates/*" (without the quotes) and hit enter (make sure you include "*").

After following the above tutorial, try to restart Cydia (it might take 2 tries, once to clear a temp file, and the second to open). Cydia should open after a few attempts without any crashes. If you have any problems, please post them in the comments section below.
