If you’re looking for the perfect app to use while you are in the bathroom, you’ll be relieved to hear about this gem. The 99 cent app was conceived by CeilingHouse and functions as a social network for poo-ers worldwide, and includes enough features to keep you on the edge of your seat.

It’s very simple to create an account; all you have to do is edit your Poofile with your desired username. (That one is not a pun) Thankfully, it doesn’t require any personal information, though you can connect it to your Facebook and Twitteraccount if you feel daring. Our impressions after the jump.

You can follow people to get regular notifications when they post, and combined with the nearby map view, (Which was surprisingly dense) you’ll have more than enough to keep you busy whilst on the throne.

It has some corny elements, such as the ability to view a “Virtual Stall”, which uses global poop-updates to generate stall graffiti. You can zoom in to read them, or click on an empty space to make your own mark. There’s also a Poo-Stream, which shows the most recent pictures other users have drawn.

The app also has Foursquare-like badges, which you receive when you complete different achievements. I received the “Diarrhea” badge for opening the app five times in five hours, which is quite the accomplishment. You can also view the leaderboards to see the top poopers are.

Another feature of the app is the “Tidbits” section, which has interesting morsels of information that surprisingly have nothing to do with poop. You can even view real-time statistics, like how many other people are currently using the bathroom, or how much toilet paper is being flushed. This info is actually pretty interesting, and would make a great conversation starter.

The app has a lot packed into it, and while it may seem to be a little childish, I’m sure it will make a splash in the App Store. It is only 99 cents, which is the same price as the double-cheeseburger that you will inevitably be posting about. The app is surprisingly well formed, and if you are even slightly curious about the state of fecal matter worldwide, then this is the right application for you.
