iOS 4.2.8 is available now for CDMA iPhone 4 users on Verizon, along with iOS 4.3.3 firmware update for GSM iPhone 4. iOS 4.2.8 update fixes the location tracking bug. The new iOS version also addresses a few battery-life related issues and iPod Touch bug fixes. The last major update for Verizon iPhone was iOS 4.2.6, released back in February 2011, followed by a minor update iOS 4.2.7, released on April 14. Direct download links of iOS 4.2.8 IPSW are available below.




To update to iOS 4.2.8, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone 4 with your computer via USB and start iTunes 10.2.2. You should now see a message prompt. Simply click on “Download and Install” (Mac OS X) or “Download and Update” (Windows) button to get on to the new firmware 4.2.8.

The last major update for Verizon iPhone was iOS 4.2.6, released back in February 2011, followed by a minor update iOS 4.2.7, released on April 14.
