Add Unlimited Icons to Your iDevice’s Folders With InfiniFolders

Cydia is a storehouse of some greatest apps for iDevices and it is still the leader in that oomph factor.Today a new app called InfiniFolders was released which will let you add more than 12 icons into your iOS4 folders, thus breaking the 12 app barrier set by apple on iOS. This is why Infini Folders is here to lift this restriction and allow you to have unlimited apps placed in an iOS4 folder.

This great app was developed by Chpwn and is very similar to the app so called InfiniBoard. When you install this app on your iDevice, you can access all your apps inside folders through simply flicking up and down. Infini Folders is currently available on Cydia at $1.99.

So,What do you think about InfiniFolders?

FOR:One- of-a-kind,Great functionality.

AGAINST:Not a freeware.

VERDICT:Great app for those who want to extend the capabilities of their iDevice.

The Official Fix For FaceTime And MMS Bugs Is Here!

It has been observed that there were some bugs in the new JailbreakMe.com jailbreak, which affected iPhone 4  users. These bugs generally got rid of FaceTime and MMS Icons, so users lost functionality with both those apps.Comex tweeted today that the bugs have been fixed, and  for users who are still faced with these bugs there is a quick fix available right here. All you will  require is some knowledge of WinSCP. If you have that then you can proceed with  this tutorial,if not then you can simply restore from back up and re-jailbreak your iDevice. If you know how to use an SSH program or iPhone file-viewer you can easily fix Facetime or MMS bugs caused by the new jailbreak.

iPhone 4 Unlock Coming in 48 Hours

Now that the iPhone 4 jailbreak has been released, the only headache left for us is the carrier unlock.

The updated ultrasn0w is due to be released in approximately 48 hours, according to the horse’s mouth. All that is left is some final testing and checking to make sure everything is in working order.

@planetbeing

We will be releasing the unlock in 48 hours (after we conduct a private beta).

@MuscleNerd

iPhone4 carrier unlock will be pushed after small test period (only @planetbeing and I have been able to test til now!)

iPhone 4/iOS 4 Jailbreak Has Arrived!

Finally! The iPhone 4 jailbreak that we have been eagerly awaiting has arrived. After a no of bottlenecks and false-starts, it’s now ready to bust open your iPhone 4 and let it free.

@comex

If it hangs at a purple screen, it’s because the server fails.

If you get hard reboots and stuff, email me: comexk@gmail.com

If you get a hard reset, sync with iTunes, and find a directory called CrashReporter/MobileDevice/[your iPhone's name]/Panics…Email me the contents.  On OSX this is ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/…
ok, just plain http://jailbreakme.com/ should be working (at least somewhat) now. Try again!

Apple's Multitouch Trackpad for Desktops

Apple has just released a multitouch trackpad for desktops, and it has full multitouch support for quickly navigating through windows. If you’ve always wanted the Macbook’s  multitouch trackpad on your desktop, then this is the right accessory for you.

The largest Multi-Touch trackpad ever.

Magic Trackpad is just like the trackpad on the MacBook Pro — but much bigger in size. It’s made with the same advanced touch-friendly and wear-resistant glass surface. But with nearly 80 percent more area, it’s the largest Multi-Touch trackpad made by Apple. So there’s even more room for you to scroll, swipe, pinch, and rotate to your fingers’ content. And since the entire surface is a button that clicks, you can use it in place of a mouse. No windows support added yet.

Unlocking and Unapproved Apps Now Legal in US

A new law states that it is now legal for users to use software to jailbreak, unlock, and install unapproved 3rd party apps on phones in the US.(Probably, the Apple iPhone.) This is big decision, and and this ruling could potentially cause some major changes by carriers and device manufacturers.

The ruling does not mean that AT&T  has to supply an unlock, and they can still pursue cases against users for breaching their contract. Apple can still try to prevent users from jailbreaking their devices, but they can not sue you for doing so.

Computer programs that enable wireless telephone handsets to execute software applications, where circumvention is accomplished for the sole purpose of enabling interoperability of such applications, when they have been lawfully obtained, with computer programs on the telephone handset.

iTunes Alternatives[Mac]

Everyone knows that iTunes is a resource hog, and if you just want to play a song, what is the need to clog up your system with resource-hogging apps? Here are a few apps that will and probably can quench your thirst for that dream iTunes alternative.

Instinctiv

Instinctiv is very light weight, but still has an excellent set of features. You can view and purchace local concert tickets, which is great for those who love to hear their favorite artists in person. It has an “Instinctiv Shuffle” mode which plays similar songs based on your mood. The app opens quickly and the user interface is gorgeous and unobtrusive. It can sync with pretty much anything except iDevices, but that is a limitation imposed by Apple. You can post your current song to Facebook and Twitter with one click, and it supports Last.fm scrobbling.

FOR:Light,Unobtrusive,Good features.
AGAINST:Can't Sync with iDevices.

VERDICT:A good fature loaded media player plus much more.

[Review] iPoo

If you’re looking for the perfect app to use while you are in the bathroom, you’ll be relieved to hear about this gem. The 99 cent app was conceived by CeilingHouse and functions as a social network for poo-ers worldwide, and includes enough features to keep you on the edge of your seat.

It’s very simple to create an account; all you have to do is edit your Poofile with your desired username. (That one is not a pun) Thankfully, it doesn’t require any personal information, though you can connect it to your Facebook and Twitteraccount if you feel daring. Our impressions after the jump.

Apple to provide free cases to iPhone 4 users

While careful not to acknowledge that anything unusual was going on with the iPhone 4’s actual (not perceived) wireless performance, Apple extended an olive branch to its detractors this morning by promising to begin offering free cases for early adopters that request them, as well as refunding Bumper cases. The procedure for refunds and free cases should be finalized by the end of next week.

[Update]iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone; 3.2.1 for iPad

It isn’t 4.1, but Apple has released an update for all of its iDevices out there. 4.0.1 is available for the iPhone and iPod touch, while 3.2.1 is here for  all iPads.

The only change noted so far is the signal bar heights, shown here:

If you see any changes? Respond in the comments.

Update 1:A report has sprouted that 3.2.1 kills the Spirit exploit. iOS 4.0.1 patches the ultrasnow. Basically, as always, jailbreakers should wait until the Dev Team gives the green light on the update.

Update 2: We have reports that it isn’t available for iPod touch users, at least not yet.

Update 3: It appears iOS 4.0.1 does not change the baseband, and can be jailbroken with the latest redsn0w. Only MB model devices can be jailbroken.

iPhone 4 Press Conference on Friday

Presumably speaking on the iPhone 4 reception ‘issues,’ Apple is holding a special press event this Friday.

Who’s speaking, about what, and what will happen are all unknowns at this time. Stay tuned, we’ll cover it as it happens!

iPhone 4's been Jailbroken

Geohot has got his hands on an iPhone 4, and promptly jailbroken it with a new exploit called “limera1n”. Love him or hate him, this guy has got skills.

From his blog:

Got one of these in the mail today and figured I’d give it a shot.

As far as a release goes, it probably won’t happen from me. limera1n is little more than a raindrop on a website; it was never mentioned by me previous to this post. pwned4life is a complete invention of some blogger in a basement somewhere. When I said pwned for life, I was referring to the original iPhone, 3G, and Touch; which of course are, by the aptly named PwnageTool.

Again, please don’t ask for release dates. Every person that does makes me want to release a little bit less.

Not the best news for hopeful iPhone 4 owners, but geohot has registered limera1n.com, so keep on the lookout.

iPad Reader Shootout

I sure am. And with the majority of RSS apps on the App Store only JUST jumping on the “Import from Google Reader” bandwagon, I didn’t hold out much hope for a decent, non-cluttered RSS reader coming anytime soon.
The iPad’s been out for 2 months, and I only got mine a week ago (living in the UK) – The two apps I’ve been using are Pulse News Reader and The Early Edition – Both pretty good readers (especially since Pulse v1.1 has been featured on Gizmodo, the sales in the UK store have gone through the roof)
