Limera1n To Jailbreak iOS 4.1 Released [Updated]

Geohot has just released limera1n to jailbreak iOS 4.1 and iOS 3.2.2. We told you yesterday that Geohot had discovered a new bootrom exploit and was planning to release the limera1n jailbreak. Limera1n is an unpatchable and untethered jailbreak.
Limera1n RC1 jailbreaks the following iDevices :

* iPad
* iPod Touch 3G
* iPod Touch 4G

Geohot is back with a bang with a fresh and new jailbreak- Limera1n for iOS 4.1 on all devices. LimeraIn will also jailbreak all those devices which are not supported by Greenpois0n. It is an untethered and universal jailbreak for all iDevices. However, it is still not known if limera1n can jailbreak the new AppleTV.

Here is some good news and bad news for all the jailbreakers around the world. Greenpoison is based on SHAtter which is a tethered exploit, but Comex from the Dev-Team, made it untethered to develop the upcoming Greenpoison jailbreak for iOS 4.1. However, Greenpoison to jailbreak iOS 4.2 and iOS 4.1.1 will be a tethered jailbreak.
GreenPois0n Jailbreak Will Be Released On Sunday

We finally have some good news for the jailbreakers. P0sixninja has tweeted that they are about to release the GreenPois0n jailbreak. According to P0sixninja, this day will be Sunday at 10:10 AM GMT. If P0sixninja is right, all of you who are waiting for an iOS 4.1 jailbreak will finally be able to jailbreak your iDevice. Though Chronic Dev-Team hasn't announced whether the jailbreak will be tethered or untethered, but it looks like it will be an untethered jailbreak.
GreenPois0n Will Hacktivate Your iPhone

We have got some more details on the critically anticipated GreenPois0n through Twitter. This time we have got a word from P0sixninja (developer of GreenPois0n), that the new GreenPois0n jailbreaking tool will be able to hacktivate the iPhone (look at the picture above).

A developer named Dustin Howett, has managed to port the new Apple TV OS called ‘lowtide’ to the iPod Touch. If you watched the Apple keynote where Steve Jobs showed us a brief demo of the new Apple TV system.

iPod Touch 4G Jailbroken Using SHAtter

The Dev-Team have successfully jailbroken iOS 4.1 on the new iPod Touch 4G using the SHAtter exploit discovered by former Chronic Dev-Team member- Pod2G. The Dev-Team have managed to use the SHAtter exploit in the beta version of Pwnage Tool to jailbreak iPod Touch 4G.

iPhone 4 Launched In MiddleEast Without FaceTime

Apple launched the iPhone 4 in Qatar and UAE this weekend. But, Apple’s video calling feature- Face Time was missing from the iPhone 4. This is so because Apple had removed description and photos referencing FaceTime from its Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Yemen website.

A few weeks later than its expected release, we see Sn0wbreeze 2.0. Sn0wbreeze 2.0 can jailbreak the 3.1.x, iOS 4.0.x and iOS 4.1 firmwares. Sn0wbreeze V2 can't jailbreak the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G, and even has restrictions with older iDevice models. Sn0wbreeze is the Windows version of Pwnage tool, which is less stable. However, just like PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze V2 allows you to create custom boot logos, set a root partition size and hacktivate your iPhone. It is the best windows tool for updating your iPhone without updating your Baseband (which is important for unlocking).

Fake Greenpois0n Is Stealing Passwords

A fake Greenpois0n tool has hit the web claiming to be using the new SHAtter exploit. As of now the new SHAtter exploit is in its development phase and hasn't been released yet. According to a security researcher at the Kapersey Labs, this tool is stealing user's passwords. Beware, it is available on torrents. Never get fooled by such scams.
[How To] Jailbreak iOS 4.1 Using Redsn0w

The Dev-Team have released a beta version of Redsn0w for iPod Touch 2G (MC Models are supported, but tethered) and iPhone 3G. It uses the pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit and not the SHAtter exploit that was discovered by pod2g- a former member of Chronic Dev-Team.
Redsn0w 0.9.6 beta supports :
* iPhone 3G / iPod touch 2G
* Mac OS X x86 (Windows version coming soon)
* 4.1 / 4.0 firwmare
Note : If you rely on an unlock on your iPhone 3G, do not update to the iOS 4.1 firmware. If you update or have updated you will not be able to unlock your iPhone via Ultrasn0w.

Pod2G Leaves The Chronic Dev-Team

Pod2G recently tweeted that he won't be working any longer for the Chronic Dev-Team. Pod2G is accredited for discovering SHAtter - a new bootrom exploit, which will be able to jailbreak all iDevices. While there have been speculations about some ego issues amongst the Chronic Dev-Team, the reason for his departure is still unknown.

Here is the iOS 4.2 features changelog:
iOS 4.2 includes the multitasking feature for the iPad, which will finally allow users to run some third party iPhone apps to run in the background. iPad users will be able to access seven apps in the task switcher in landscape mode and six apps in portrait mode.
